The “Website” refers to the website at www.deensavvy.com. This Website is owned and operated by Deensavvy Academy in the UK, (“The School”). This privacy policy ("Privacy Policy") applies to information that you provide to The School via this Website, and/or by use of other services (collectively, the "Services") that may be provided by other means or media, including as set forth below and as defined in the applicable Terms and Conditions or other terms. This Privacy Policy is intended to provide you notice of The School's information management practices, including the types of information gathered, how it is used and safeguarded, and the degree to which you may control the maintenance and sharing of your information. Your use of The School Service or Website constitutes acceptance of this Privacy Policy and any other applicable terms. This Privacy Policy is part of and incorporated by reference into the Terms and Conditions for this Website.
INFORMATION THAT WE COLLECT Personal Data is any information from which a living individual can be identified. The school will need to process the Personal Data of applicants, pupils, parents and guardians in order to perform its contractual obligations as set out in the Standard Terms and Conditions or because it has a legitimate interest in doing so.
The Types of Personal Data the School will process include names, dates of birth, contact details, nationality, medical and health information (where appropriate), curriculum and assessment information, attendance records, and information of parents and guardians.
Special Category Data: Some of this is defined as special category or ‘sensitive’ personal data. That information is only processed with the consent of the individual concerned, where it is needed to comply with a legal obligation or if it must be processed to protect a pupil’s vital interests.
Collection: The School collects Personal Data in a number of ways. For example, parents and guardians will provide Personal Data about themselves and their children in correspondence, forms (including enquiry and application forms), documents, in discussions with THE SCHOOL and via agents or websites. Information about pupils will be gathered directly as part of their tuition and be created and developed by THE SCHOOL over the course of their education at THE SCHOOL.
Data Transfers: The School is operated from the United Kingdom and, as such, the personal data of students living in other countries will be transferred to and processed in the United Kingdom in order to fulfil its contractual obligations. THE SCHOOL may also transfer personal data outside the United Kingdom in the delivery of its services (including to the United States of America) and, where that is the case, it will ensure that appropriate mechanisms are in place to protect any such transfers.
How and why THE SCHOOL uses Personal Data Admission: The School will use the Personal Data of parents, guardians, mentors, applicants and pupils to make decisions relating to admissions, bursaries, scholarships and the charging and recovery of fees. Education: The School’s primary purpose is to provide education and learning for pupils, including enabling participation in classes, assignments, exams, assessments and the monitoring and reporting of pupils’ progress and their educational needs. This may include extra-curricular activities and educational content and the facilitation of educational trips and visits. Promoting the School’s interests and objectives, including quality assurance and the marketing of related educational products and services provided by Deensavvy Academy. Legal and administrative purposes in order to facilitate the safe and efficient operation of the School and to ensure that the School complies with its legal obligations.
Sharing Personal Data Third Party Service Providers: the School may engage third parties to provide it with services that it needs for its operation, including but not limited to IT service providers, internet service providers, content providers, professional advisers, and consultants. Personal Data will only be shared with these parties to the extent that is necessary and will always be subject to appropriate confidentiality provisions. Parents and/or guardians will be given information, where permitted by data protection legislation, about their children/ wards such as information about their academic record, behaviour and progress. Consent may be sought from parents, guardians, mentors or pupils where it is appropriate to do so in advance of sharing information with third parties.
DATA PROTECTION
The personal information given by the parent and the students enrolled at our school is only used for administrative purposes, including: Control of the curriculum. Publication of examination results. Giving references. Management purposes. Analysis of educational practices. Marketing and public relations.
The information shall not be used in any other way than for the management of our school and the good of both the school staff and the students. It can only be disclosed to agents and service providers who ensure that the above are fulfilled. The parent needs to understand that completing this document means agreeing and consenting to what our school intends to do with the students’ information. Deensavvy Academy will take all necessary precautions and use spam and virus protection to the students and staff’s mail web accounts. However, we are not to be held accountable for any unwanted emails on the students or anyone else’s mail account.
Recording all lessons is part of our school’s policies to enable easy students’ access the information after it has already been taught for revision purposes. The recordings are secured using the school’s software providers’ servers.
Payment Payment of fees should be in full before the start date and on the due date specified on the invoice provided.
Course selection, Timetable, and other changes Students may select their preferred tracks of study using the registration form on their dashboard. Deensavvy Academy will advise if the preferred course choices can be accommodated within timetable constraints.
Deensavvy Academy reserves the right to amend the timetable if this is necessary for operational reasons beyond its control and will give at least 2 weeks’ notice of any changes. If the student is unable to continue with his or her chosen Courses due to a timetable change made by Deensavvy Academy, you will be entitled to end this Agreement and receive a refund of any prepaid fees.
Authority of The Director You authorise the Director of Studies of Deensavvy Academy, or their nominated deputy, to take such action as the Director may reasonably consider as being in the best interests of the pupil on a day-to-day basis.
THE SCHOOL is dedicated to protecting your personally identifiable information and welcomes comments and questions on this Privacy Policy. You may e-mail your questions or comments to: admin@deensavvy.com Please note that information submitted to the Website via a "contact us," "help" or other similar e-mail address or form will not necessarily receive a response. We will not use the information provided to these e-mail addresses or forms for marketing purposes unrelated to your request.
NOTIFICATION OF CHANGES THE SCHOOL reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy and its Terms and Conditions at any time. In case of any material change to the Privacy Policy, we will replace the "Privacy Policy" link on the home page of our sites with a link entitled "Updated Privacy Policy" for no less than 30 days. All changes to the Privacy Policy and/or Terms of Service will be effective when posted, and your continued use of THE SCHOOL Website or Service after the posting will constitute acceptance of, and agreement to be bound by, those changes.
Termination You can terminate this Agreement with effect from the end of the last day of the summer term of the academic year by providing notice on or before the last teaching day. We will remind you in writing at least 30 days before the deadline for giving notice.
If you withdraw the pupil at any point prior to the final day of the summer term, fees will be owed up to the end of the academic year.
If you want to terminate the Agreement you must send Deensavvy Academy a notice via email to admin@deensavvy.com
Either you or Cambridge Home School Online may terminate this Agreement by giving written notice if the other party (including the pupil) has not complied with its terms (including the Policies) and does not correct this within a reasonable period when the party giving notice has asked it in writing to do so. In some cases, it will not be possible to correct a failure to comply and in those cases, the Agreement will be terminated immediately on written notice. A disinclination to continue the service when Cambridge Home School Online has complied with the terms of this agreement is not grounds for termination.
You will still have to pay any fees due for the remainder of the academic year if Cambridge Home School Online terminates this Agreement because you or the pupil have not complied with its terms (including any Policies). You will have to pay any fees due immediately.
